Immediately following the ceremony there was a two hour adult cocktail/social
hour that led into the wedding party introductions... and the first dance to
Barry
White's "I've Found Someone".
Eric Lange, our Best Man, then gave a wonderful speech - WOW!
There was about 30 minutes to mingle with the guests before everyone
was called to the celebration meal. Richard and Laurel both "said a few
beautiful words". Well, those
that were there know just how many words were said!
We will all remember the microphone competition for years to
come.
Sher Mitchell, our Honor Attendant, gave an incredibly
heart-warming toast about her relationship with
Deb and Andrew to all there...
Thank you!
We
then had a blast with the bouquet toss! (Deb tossed a break-away bouquet
that shocked all the gals as it flew apart
as it soared through the air!) They played
"Girls Just Wanna Have Fun" to get all the gals together
and
"It's Raining Men" as the bouquets floated through the air
for the second part of the girl fun!
Andrew had fun stripping the garter from Debra's leg... and his good
friend Brian D. was the lucky
man to catch his fate! :)
They chose to play "Oh Yeah" for the removal
(think Ferris Bueller... chick chick a chickkaaaahhh)
and "Another One Bites the Dust" for the guy "catching" fun!
(ROMANTIC
NOTE: Brian actually proposed to his lady, Teresa,
the day after the wedding - now we have another day of love
to celebrate!
Congratulations you two!!)
Then there were the festivities in the "Barn"...
It started with the cake cutting and traditional feed/smash
("That's Amore"),
the Father/Daughter dance ("I Wanna Be There") followed
that
and it led into the Mother/Son dance (You Are The Sunshine Of My Life).
Debra dedicated a childhood
song to her Mom for Mother's Day
(You Are So Beautiful
To Me) a song that the "Kiecker" women have always sung to one another.
Then there was the hysterical "choreographed"
dancing events that our DJ planned for us.
Between the ladies singing
"Stop in the Name of Love" to Andrew
and the gents baritoning "My Girl" to a blushing bride-
we will never listen
to those songs the same again!
Although the night seemed as though it could have gone on forever...
beautiful Sonoma Valley does have a curfew.
Our final song "That's What Friends Are For" was an entire wedding guest dance fest...
and as the couple left
to "We Go Together" from Grease in the
1929 Convertible Packard that Andrew had scheduled a to pick them up...
the
festivities came to a close around 8 o'clock.
What an absolutely PERFECT day!
